I'm questioning/curious why we were there too. I looked it up and there is a Naval Base in Rota, which is close by. I'm thinking that was it? Crew Scheduling would sometimes book us rooms at hotels an hour away, depending on the logistics and cost.

The jars of rattlesnake in sake were for sale at shops in the American Village. But I would see them everywhere - including the aquarium in our hotel that wasn't part of the American base/was on a different part of the island. Something tells me Americans liked to purchase the jars though :)

Oh what I would do to be able to go there again and explore on my own!
