I've been on a 90s/00s kick of rock documentaries - Chester Bennington, Taylor Hawkins, Kurt Cobain...so many beloved people gone. Watching these makes me sad while also admiring, getting chills, thinking about those who live with addiction. It's easy for those without addiction to forget about the challenges faced every day. One of my best friends just celebrated her 11 year sober-versary. This reminds me to celebrate and check in on her more often. Just because time passes doesn't mean the addiction does. Your words in this piece are really powerful.
